to be done as of 5/11/2010...
As I'm typing this, an experiment is underway.
At any minute, any second the container may
explode. I struggle to control, to make sense
the elements that compose this chemical.
Iron Man 2: Ah, opening day!! 5/08/2010
It lacked the humor of it predecessor but by no
means a bad movie. Don Cheadle taking over as Lt.
Col. James Rhodes was a welcome change. That isn't
to say I had any qualms with Terrence Howard. I
have to admit that while Cheadle looks more and
acts like Rhodey, Howard's performance did bring
more life and smoothness to the character and a
personality that could go toe-to-toe with Downey's
Tony Stark character rather than just a straight-
aced, no non-sense opposite. But if you're going
for accuracy Cheadle get the prize. Scarlett
Johansson, actually turned out to be the surprise
of the movie if nothing else for the choreography
for her action scenes and it made me completely
overlook the lacking of a Russian accent that the
character is supposed to have. Then there was Ivan
Vanko played by Mickey Rourke. Let me first say
that in the comics Ivan Vanko was a pseudonym used
by Anton Vanko better known as the Crimson Dynamo.
In the movie, however, Anton and Ivan are two separate
characters; father and son respectively, the latter
rather than becoming the Crimson Dynamo and a hero for
that matter becomes the villainous Whiplash, originally
Mark Scarlotti in the comics. Rourke made for a good
evil genius to antagonize Stark playing from the angle
of revenge, jealousy, and granted the Stark family's
contribution to United States warfare, a bit of the
Cold War for good measures.
But what ultimately made the movie for me was after the credits rolled...
Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions: Finally, Marvel has an
answer to DC Comics' Batman: Arkham Asylum from last year
brought to us by DC Entertainment/Warner Bros. Interactive
Entertainment, Eidos Entertainment and developed by
Rocksteady Studios on the Playstation 3 and Xbox360. As
I was skimming the PSN for new content, one particular
trailer caught my eye...

Okay, so Iron Man and Wolverine have stolen some of our
friendly neighborhood wall-crawler's thunder, but, ole
Spidey is still the original Marvel flagship character.
No other Marvel character has been more well known. Last
year's Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2, loosely based on Marvel's
2007 crossover Civil War story line, wasn't bad but it
wasn't great, either. It presented it us with the chance
to play as some of our favorite Marvel superheroes as well
as some lesser known ones in a four character team action/
adventure game with some dungeon crawling and RPG aspects.
But it lacked something...
It lacked the innovation that made Batman: Arkham Asylum
so exciting from the regular go around and beat up the
bad guys formula of most other Batman and other superhero
games. Now, Activision brings us, in development by
Beenox, Spider-Man Shattered Dimensions. One adventure,
four different Spider-Men... Each one with a different
play style. Thus far, confirmed are the Amazing Spider-Man
of the Earth-616 (Mainstream) Universe and Spider-Man
Noir of the Marvel Noir (designated as Earth-7207)
Universe [link] The other two have yet to be revealed but in
either case the game is slated for a September 2010
release.
Alas, there were originally more elements to this
compound, however, through a series of chaotic
events and the passage of time everything has become
hazy. I can no longer tell the unique from the
ordinary save for the ones preserved above originally
in a draft of my research. Indeed this a chaotic
endeavor...
Eat your heart out, Linko!!
